Spotting Online Scams? Domain Age Matters More Than You Think!
Domain Age: A Key Factor in Predicting Internet Fraud
Identifying online fraud can be challenging, but through developing our new automatic website checker, we’ve uncovered valuable insights. One such insight is that the age of a website is a strong predictor of its reliability. According to our data, these two variables are correlated over 50%! This means that if you encounter a website with a domain that is created a few weeks ago, there is a high chance it could be unreliable.
This information comes from the data used to train our new website testing model. The dataset was built using a sample of websites tested by us, ensuring it’s representative of our tested websites.
I Have Just Launched a New Website - How Do I Make It Appear Trustworthy?
Domain age is a critical indicator of trustworthiness. However, some new websites may appear unreliable initially, even if they’re legitimate. To address this, we recommend that you register your website for a free when you are just starting. We will manually validate your site and immediately correct any false results.
However, the best option is to purchase Extended Validation (EV). This is the most cost-effective way to show that your website is trustworthy, while also helping us protect more users from online fraud. Thanks to participating companies, we can improve our websitetest and maintain our servers. Our goal is to help as many people as possible in the fight against internet fraud by offering startups and new sites an affordable way to become validated.
Where Can I Check the Age of a Website?
Although we do not yet have a specific tool to display the exact age of a domain, our website test considers more than 40 variables, including domain age, giving you a clear indication of a website’s trustworthiness.
If there’s enough demand, we are happy to create a tool that allows you to check a domain’s age directly. Interested? Please fill out the form below, and we’ll start development based on the level of interest!
Why Are Domain Age and Trustworthiness Linked?
Although we haven’t yet studied all the factors contributing to this correlation, there is at least one clear reason: many fraudulent websites use short-lived domains. When a website is blacklisted for fraud, it is quickly taken offline and a new one is set up. This is one reason domain age is crucial in determining trustworthiness. Want to Test the Reliability of a Website? Our Website Checker Now Uses an Improved AI Driven Script!
About our Website Checker
Ever wonder if a website is safe? Or maybe you clicked on a link and want to know where it leads? Don’t worry—our free website checker is here to help! With just a few clicks, you can check if a website is trustworthy and avoid falling into online scams.
Today, we’ve launched a new version of our website checker. While it may look the same, the AI-driven script that predicts whether a website is reliable has been greatly improved. Now, our website checker is better than ever!
Why It Is Smart to Use Our Website Checker
The internet is great, but it also comes with risks—especially when scammers are getting better and better at making fake websites look real. These sites can look exactly like the legit ones, with similar names and layouts. Unfortunately, lots of people realize they’ve been scammed only after they’ve handed over their money.
This is where our website checker comes in handy. Whether you’re buying something from a new store or just curious about a link you’ve received in an email, you can use our tool to check the website’s safety. It’s quick, easy, and best of all—it’s completely free!
How Does Our Free Website Checker Work?
We’ve made it super simple! Our free website checker uses smart technology to analyze over 40 different variables of a website. This helps the script figure out if the website is trustworthy or potentially a scam.
Here’s what happens when you run a website through our checker:
We Check the Website’s History:
First, we check if the website is on our blacklist. If other users have flagged the website as a scam, we’ll let you know right away.We Gather Information:
Then, our tool collects important details, such as:- How Old the Website Is: Older websites are usually more reliable. Scammers often create new sites to trick people quickly.
- Domain Information: Is the website registered properly? Some scam websites use shady or suspicious registration services.
- Security: Does the website use SSL (HTTPS)? If not, your data might not be safe.
- Hosting Location: Is the website hosted in Europe or elsewhere? Websites hosted outside Europe can sometimes be risky, especially if they target European customers.
- HTML Content: The tool also examines the website’s HTML structure. Some scam websites have poorly coded or suspicious content hidden in the HTML, which can indicate potential fraud.
We Use AI to Analyze the Data:
In total, the tool evaluates over 40 different variables! Once all the data is collected, it is analyzed using artificial intelligence (AI). This detailed process ensures that the website checker can provide the most accurate results possible.
Since our new script checks more variables and uses a more advanced model, it might take a little longer to deliver the results. While this delay is unavoidable, it ensures that you get the most precise and reliable outcome!
What Happens After You Run the Check?
Once you’ve run the website through our tool, you’ll get your result. If the website looks trustworthy, you’ll see a green light. If something’s off, we’ll give you a heads-up. But even if a website seems okay, we still recommend you stay cautious and double-check things like reviews. After all, it’s always better to be safe than sorry! You can easily use our checklist for this.

How Can Our Website Checker Be Free?
You might be wondering, “What’s the catch? How can the website checker be free?” It’s simple! We keep our website checker free for everyone, thanks to a few ways you can support us—one of which doesn’t cost you a penny!
First, we earn small affiliate commissions. When you’re referred to a trusted website through us and make a purchase, we receive a commission. This helps cover the costs of keeping our tool running smoothly, at no extra cost to you. We always recommend testing a website before buying anything, and if the site is safe, a button appears that says: Go to the website. This way, you know the website is safe, and you help us make the internet a safer place!
Second, we rely on donations from users like you. Every day, we help prevent people from getting scammed online. If each time we saved someone from a scam, we received a small donation (instead of losing money because of a scam), we could keep the test running even more smoothly. Your support allows us to continue improving the website checker for everyone.
We hope our free website checker helps you stay safe online! If you’ve found it useful, we’d love to hear from you. We’re always open to feedback. And if you’d like to support us, you can! Whether it’s through donations or using our affiliate links, you’re helping make the internet a safer place.
